Bernie Gartland is the founder of Gartland Law and The Gartland Group, both based in La Quinta, California.
Mr. Gartland is a leading authority in the field of tax problem solving for individuals and businesses that have not filed tax returns and/or not paid taxes due for multiple years. He is the creator of the Three-Part Tax Problem Solving method which he implements to help his clients gain control of their lives and begin focusing on a brighter future.
In the past 20 years Mr. Gartland has helped more than a thousand clients proactively assess their tax problems and effectively resolve them with the taxing authorities, including IRS, California Franchise Tax Board, California Employment Development Department and the State Board of Equalization. Bernie is sought after by clients and other professionals for his vast knowledge about tax bankruptcy and dischargeability of taxes.
During his distinguished legal career prior to founding Gartland Law and The Gartland Group, Mr. Gartland was a sole practitioner attorney based in San Diego, California where he developed a tax law firm specializing in tax problem solving and tax preparation. He was the first attorney in Southern California to discover that taxes could be controlled and/or eliminated in special tax bankruptcies. Earlier in his career he served as Deputy Attorney General for the State of Delaware where he was responsible for criminal trial prosecution carrying a case load of approximately 52 cases at any given time. He also served as Chief Liaison Officer for the Delaware Attorney General’s Office to four separate police agencies. Prior to this he was a probation and parole officer for the State of Delaware. Additionally, as an attorney in private practice in Delaware his practice focused primarily on family law and criminal defense.
As an enrolled agent, Bryon Bauer is a federally authorized tax preparer empowered by the U.S. Department of the Treasury to represent taxpayers before all administrative levels of the IRS for audits, collections and appeals.
Bryon plays an integral role in the management and client services of American Tax Centers. As a former auditor for the State of California he has the expertise necessary to help you get your tax returns filed properly and on time while helping mitigate your risk of an audit. If you are selected for audit, however, his background and understanding of the taxing agencies from the inside out can certainly help bolster your position.
For the clients of American Tax Centers, Bryon provides current and past year tax return preparation for individuals, partnerships, corporations, estates, trusts, and any entities with tax-reporting requirements. He also assists with tax problem solving and provides ongoing tax advice and representation when needed. Bryon is a graduate of California State University, San Bernardino (1992) with a Bachelor of Science degree in business where he was a member of the Alpha Lamda Delta National Honor Society.
Kim’s extensive education, coaching, and background comes to light through her high-energy approach to her expertise at the firm. Kim has a masters degree from University of the Pacific, and she is a certified tax preparer in the state of California.

Cathy Satter has been a professional bookkeeper and financial analyst in Southern California for more than 35 years.
Cathy has advanced skills in accounting, payroll, accounts payable/receivable and account reconciliation using QuickBooks and Excel. She is available to assist clients with a wide range of bookkeeping, accounting, budgeting and payroll services designed to keep business owners and individuals well informed and proactive regarding their financial matters.
One of Cathy’s core areas of expertise is helping business owners and executives utilize the financial information generated by a properly managed set of books. In particular, she can assist by helping prepare PowerPoint presentations that include Excel files linked to spreadsheets and other data sources that can be utilized to brief managers, staff and clients.
In addition to her bookkeeping and financial management expertise, Cathy has a Certified Women’s Business Enterprise designation through Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) and can help other women to seek the certification.
Tim has a strong background in understanding businesses and investments. After graduating college with an economics degree, Tim was a currency trader. During that time he saw a presentation on how to use trusts to save taxes, which ultimately ended with Tim going to law school to learn about the tax code.
